Nostalgia Sports Car Club

Sunday 18th April 2004 - The Heritage Motor Museum , Gaydon, Warwickshire.

At this historic venue, steeped in flying and motoring history, a new car club was borne.  A group of owners, of Nostalgia Classic Sports Cars, their families and friends met for the first time and formed the Nostalgia Sports Car Club.

The day began with time to greet  and meet each other, most of those attending had never met before.  Many introductions were made by the guy's from Nostalgia Cars, who of course, had met everybody before.

There followed a guided tour of the museum covering the use of the site as an Air Force base from 1942, through its association with British Leyland, to today as a museum and home to the test facilities of the Ford Advanced Automotive division

The Heritage Museum houses a comprehensive range of classic cars saved on behalf of the nation many of them unique examples and still in working order.  This is a magnificent collection of  cars  representing Standard, Triumph, Austin, Morris, Rover and MG, together with Ford, Aston Martin, Lotus and Jaguar.  Motoring milestones are everywhere. As  well as  its own collection of vehicles the museum regularly hosts themed exhibitions  of classic cars. We were especially lucky to find the current exhibition was classic Jaguar cars. Starting with a stunning example of and SS100 and ranging through XK140, Mark VII, C type, E type, to a TWR XJS, and on  to  XJR-16, XK220, ending with a modern F1 Jaguar Racing Car.

Surrounded  by all this, the gathering  decided to form the Nostalgia Sports Car Club. Its objective :- To provide mutual support to owners and builders of the marque. To promote  and provide social events for members to enjoy the company of like minded enthusiasts and the enjoyment of owning and driving the cars.    Did we make history? Only time will tell.  We can only wish this new venture every success.
